Meet the team!

Hello everyone, and thank you for checking into this weeks blog post! This is going to be quick one, but a very important one! The is a “meet the team” post, I am going to speak a little bit about why and how we started “Cook’s” and all of the current team members.

If you have read any of our old posts you will likely know that myself and several other team members have been working in this field for over 12 years! Approximately 12 years ago now, I took a job offer in Toronto and the idea was to move to Calgary and work on the BOW Tower, installing raised access floor throughout and also aiding in the under floor air distribution process. That’s where Coby, Shawn and Shmuel come in, Coby, Shawn and Shmuel were already employed and working in the BOW Tower, it was not long before I got to know these guys really well. As the BOW started to wind down, and other projects came on line, I was essentially promoted, along with Coby and Shawn to start heading up out-of-town projects and other installations across Western Canada.

FUN-FACT; Shmuel was a contestant on “Canada’s worst driver” I highly recommend checking it out on YouTube if you have the time!

Coby proved his ability to run projects, along with Shawn’s attention to detail and ability to work with everyone on site, made for one amazing team. During the course of this we were awarded a really nice sized project for ESSO’s south campus in Calgary, that’s where we met Adam, a young, highly motivated and highly skilled individual who has now been a part of this team for close to 7 years!

It was a few years back when Coby and I discussed doing this “on our own,” we were not sure how exactly but we knew we possess the tools and talents to make it happen. Once My very supportive wife, our infant child and I moved back to Alberta we decided to make a go of it. This was hugely because of the team that would be coming with us - without the guys, Coby, Shawn and Adam this would not be possible.

In September of 2018 it was official, “Cook’s Construction & Consulting, INC” was born and we hit the ground running! Lots of learning curves and things to figure out, but again, with the team we have we are confidant we can tackle any hurdles.

Early 2019 we re-engaged with John Wallace, John is very well-versed in the construction industry and is a talented quantity surveyor by trade with a lot of experience in raised floors and modular construction! John, myself and the team have successfully emerged as a a leader in modular construction - our goal is to make the construction process easy for everyone involved! We have worked on some amazing projects, with some amazing people. The jobs are becoming thoroughly enjoyable and now that we have the control and the ability to provide our clients with not only raised access floors, under floor air distribution, modular power, factory finishes, modular finishes demountable partitions, museum showcases and more, we can control every aspect from planning right through to installation!!! We are proud to say that our attention to detail on each and every project is what makes us stand out from the crowd! We have some amazing competition out there, who do an excellent job, so every little bit we can do, and every little bit extra we can put in will hopefully make us a recognizable name in the future.

Thanks again for checking in, we really appreciate al the support and we truly look forward to the potential to work with you on the next project!

Also - stay tuned for some really exciting news in 2021…Cook’s has a really big announcement coming!

Thanks to everyone, have a wonderful, safe, happy and healthy holiday season and best wishes into the news year!
